Master Machine and Automation Integrator?! Apply to be Axiom's next Maintenance/Automation Engineer! Where does the Maintenance/Automation Engineer fit in? The Maintenance/Automation Engineer will have a "hands on" approach providing support in automation (which includes robotics, vision systems, PLC programming, assembly equipment). They will work with the group to ensure the production floor is operational in an efficient and effective manner. The Specialist will be assisting with the design, development, programming, troubleshooting AND integration of new automated processes and equipment. They will also lead and support activities such as automation downtime tracking, analysis, continuous improvement, reporting, equipment repairs and installs. What you can expect as our next Maintenance/Automation Engineer: Oversight of automation, process development and optimization, providing support and guidance as required to the automation and assembly equipment maintenance Provide hands on assistance with Logic, Robotic programming (Fanuc, Wittmann, Ranger, Yushin), Vision systems Assist with design and build automation & assembly cells, including include vision systems Provide hands on assistance with integrating automation and production machines Works with teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design, prototyping testing, defining support procedures. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues on the production floor as related to programming and automation cells Work with Department Manager to ensure Preventative Maintenance activities are completed on all automation and assembly equipment Identify roadblocks and recommend appropriate resolutions Possess strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated Assist with determining continuous improvement opportunities to utilize automation in the plant in order improve productivity and labour efficiencies Assist in root cause analysis when customer complaints arise, help implement corrective actions such as poke yoke, vision systems, and other automated measures. Assist with managing automation asset inventory, spare parts management, program change logs, program backup data base and safety precautions as it pertains to automation Be available to support the automation team on the off-shift if necessary, either through phone guidance. If issue cannot be resolved and customer shipments are in jeopardy or there is a critical project in progress, be available to come in to support Design review from third party automation integrators Ensures compliance of IATF-16949 systems and procedures Perform housekeeping checks to ensure compliance to 5S Performs all jobs in a safe manner, strictly abiding by company health and safety regulations Performs other duties as required Do you have what is takes to be our next Maintenance/Automation Engineer? Minimum 5 years' experience in PLC programming, robot programming including building and implementing automation cells within the manufacturing environment Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, engineering or robotics/automation related field Minimum 5 years' experience with hands-on experience with Omron PLC programming Hands on experience with Fanuc & Keyence vision system programming experience Hands on experience with machine and automation integration Knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, and standard MS Office software as Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Able to convey technical information to members of management, co-workers, clients, suppliers and outside organizations Proven successful launches of previous programs (on time & on budget) Ability to think & execute strategically and is results oriented Self-motivated individual with a strong problem-solving skill with the ability to work effectively in a team or individual setting Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi task as required Able to travel to US and Mexico Perks?!
