Job Description

Organizational Background: Parkwood Seniors Community is a not-for-profit, charitable, faith-based Continuum of Care located in Waterloo (corner of University Avenue and New Hampshire Street) supported by 23 Mennonite and Brethren in Christ Congregations. It is one of two campuses of Fairview Parkwood Communities.

The vibrant Parkwood campus offers more than a housing solution. It has been purposefully designed and expanded to create a sense of community for older adults where all are welcome.

Parkwood Mennonite Home, where the role is based, is a Long-Term Care Home for 96 residents. This job posting is for an existing position.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance and repair to plumbing, electrical, small appliances and equipment Clean hard and carpet floors routinely Pick up garbage and recycling throughout the building Complete Maintenance Care requests daily Complete department specific audits and preventative maintenance as per schedule Ability to work in a team setting to organize and coordinate daily tasks and schedule projects Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting, utilizing exceptional organizational and time management skills Must be available, as per schedule, for on-call to assist with 'after-hours' emergencies on the campus

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Previous experience in building maintenance and/or environmental services a strong asset Strong communication skills Enjoys working with seniors

Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check 2-Step TB test 2 doses of Covid vaccine OR 1 current dose
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
