The building maintenance worker will maintain all common areas of CUMFI's Homes/Program spaces, units, and/or Head office, including both indoor and outdoor spaces. This position conducts regular site inspections to determine areas that need attention and then performs the tasks to completion. You will perform various forms of work, such as drywall repair, replace sink taps or shower faucets, repair or install a door, paint a suite, etc. The building maintenance person is often required to be on call for nights and weekends in case of emergencies. _______________________________________________________________________
Position Reporting:
This position reports to the Director of Housing and is held accountable to President/Chief Executive Officer.
Repair damages in suites such as taps/cartridges, door closure adjustments, fuses in stoves, changing of locks, repair linoleum/carpets and other flooring, such as baseboards, and closets
Ensure dryer vents and all vents are open and cleaned
Constructing and installation of window screens
Repair doors/door frames, hinges and handsets
Unplug toilets/sinks and bathtubs
Patch/paint holes in all walls both in suites and common areas
Ensure that maintenance room is clean, well-stocked with maintenance material(s) and kept locked at all times
Inspection of all buildings inside and outside on a weekly basis
Inspection of all suites on a quarterly basis
Repair drywall and/or paint suites and common areas
Move heavy furniture, equipment, garbage, and supplies, both inside and outside
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on appliances
Maintenance and repair of plumbing, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
Maintain appropriate service and repair records
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking

Qualifications:
High School Diploma, supplemented by completion of a trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work.

Reliable vehicle (preferably a truck) is required
