Position Title: Maintenance WorkerPosition Type: Temporary - Full-Time \xe2\x80\x8bPosition Location: MiddletonGrade:Requisition ID: 29306McCain Fertilizer, a Division of McCain Produce Inc, is a leading distributer of crop inputs, including blended fertilizer, crop protection products and other related inputs, with multiple locations in Atlantic Canada and the State of Maine.We currently have an open position for a seasonal Maintenance worker at our Middleton, PEI blending facility. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing site maintenance and support to other operation functions, while always ensuring a safe work environment.There may be interest to expand this role to full-time permanent in the future.Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee the maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained properly
• Verbally communicate identified Emergency/Urgent repair problems accurately and efficiently to site supervisor
• Foster a safe work environment and promote continuous improvement initiatives in regards to workplace safety.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment and buildings
• Willing and capable of doing some exterior physical labor in varying weather conditions as required
• Willing and capable to work at heights
• Provide a day-to-day support to the Site Supervisor, overseeing the blending facility to ensure customer orders are completed in a safe, timely and diligent manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• General equipment maintenance experience required.
• Able to operate power tools, light welding and oxyacetylene torches
• Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Possession of a Class 3A license and the ability to operate a forklift and skid loader would be an asset.
• Able to work extended hours during the spring blending season
• Possess a Strong Safety record.
• Must work with a sense of urgency
• Ability to safety lift/move 40lbs/18+kgs
