If so, The Foothills Medical Centre Facilities Maintenance, & Engineering (FM&E) team has an amazing opportunity for a Maintenance Worker who can display their skills in facility operations, while offering team-focused commitment and positive attitude. Under supervision of the Maintenance Manager/Coordinator or Working Supervisor, the Maintenance Worker I performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties in accordance with approved practices and procedures. This role will primarily assist onsite Electrical trade to complete the Annual Inspection Verification of the Fire Alarm System and Monitor supplies and prepares requisitions. Work with Admins to support parts inventories (orders and receives parts and supplies and stores them according to prearranged system, maintains inventories, keeps price lists up to date, pick orders). Other MW1 opportunities will exist to assists other trades as required. Working at heights and on roofs will be required (Grounds, Facility, and Operational Support).Description:As a Maintenance Worker I, you may perform routine tasks related to grounds keeping and facility maintenance. Working independently and/or as part of team, you may maintain lawns, flowerbeds, trees and shrubs, collect and dispose garbage, remove snow and ice, spread salt and sand, clean mechanical rooms and shop areas, and assist tradespeople and other maintenance staff as needed.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's licence. Additional Required Qualifications:Must be able to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing. Must have basic computer skills Microsoft, Word, Excel (Experience with Oracle products iProcurement would be an asset). Must have a basic understanding of Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and supply management. Must have good problem-solving and organizational skills. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be creative, adaptable, and must possess good practical knowledge and well developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have a strong commitment to customer service. Must be mechanically inclined, able to use required equipment and tools related to maintenance repair. Must be able to take direction, possess good verbal skills, and be able to work with others or alone with minimal supervision. Must have the strength and stamina to lift and carry heavy materials, and to perform repetitive tasks involving bending, stretching, walking, kneeling and working overhead. Must be able to organize workloads and ensure duties are completed in a timely manner. Must utilize personal safety equipment when required. Preferred Qualifications:Grade 12 diploma. Valid First aid would be an asset. Valid Fit testing certificate would be an asset. Valid Fall arrest, aerial platform and forklift training would be an asset. Experience with Electrical or fire alarm systems (Apprentice, Electrical pre-employment course, certificate, or diploma) would be an asset.
