The team works together to ensure effective, efficient and safe performance for the operation, maintenance and repair of building systems on campus.Under direct or general supervision, the Maintenance Worker will provide labourer or semi-skilled services in one or more trade, or qualified areas of practice as defined by the Industrial Training Authority of BC (ITA), BC Safety Authority and/or recognized licensing or training institutions. The incumbent assists trades persons or technicians, acts as labourer, performs semi-skilled tasks for which the incumbent has been trained to safely perform.Regulated work shall be performed only by incumbents holding required qualifications. The incumbent performs related duties of similar scope and complexity in collaboration or independently within a single discipline or multidisciplinary shop and full-service facilities department which provides such services as plant and facilities engineering maintenance services. The incumbent will also assist in emergent situations, as reasonably declared by employer, within the physical and skill capacity of the individual.Shall conform to all best practices in relation to UVic.
