Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our Maintenance Team as Maintenance Person. The successful candidate will be driven and dedicated, possessing the skills necessary to respond quickly to maintenance requests and to maintain the hotel facilities by practicing preventative maintenance and general repairs.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members, a 'can do" attitude, and the desire to learn and advance within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Respond and attend to guest room and pubic area repair requests - ie. Plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners / HVAC, TV, electronic locks, telephone system, pool, fitness center.

Touches up paints and finishes on doors and fixtures when needed

Refurbishes furniture and fixtures within guestrooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters

Assists with preventative maintenance including completing Guestroom Preventative Maintenance Checklist.

Check for new maintenance work orders and get appropriate sign-off once the task is completed.

Follows all company and job-specific safety policies, and reports any accident and/or hazard immediately. Maintains the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on maintenance equipment.

Undertakes special projects and other duties as assigned

Analyze problems, identify courses of action, and implement solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.

Respond to emergency after hour's maintenance calls

Job Requirements

Mostly Monday to Friday job, but this position may require weekend, evening and holiday coverage

A minimum of 1-2 years technical experience or equivalent in a recognized trade with a general understanding of building maintenance and operation.

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work within a team environment and a passion to learn and grow in this role

Team player and self-starter with strong organizational skills

Detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills

Status: Must be resident of Canada - living in Canada and eligibility to work in Canada.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Experience:

Facilities maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
