Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Person to join our team at Orchard Recovery Center. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained and functional, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for our clients. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to support the overall operations of the center.

Responsibilities

General property maintenance and repairs. Troubleshooting basic issues including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and appliances Seasonal tasks like lawn care, snow clearing and pool upkeep. Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and clients. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a safe and functional environment for all. Operate and troubleshoot Orchard owned equipment (e.g. weed trimmer, snow plow) Help identify and address basic issues with vehicles and small equipment (before calling in professionals. Support small projects that may require basic carpentry skills or coordination with contractors.

Requirements

A valid driver's license First Aid certificate or willing to get one Familiarity with tools and basic building systems A strong work ethic, willingness to learn. Respect for client privacy Living on Bowen Island is a bonus as this requires and early start time and on call off hours time in the event of emergencies or snow fall
