Maintenance Work – Tool Crib Attendant And Labourer

Overview:



We are looking for a reliable labourer capable of organizing tools, protective equipment, performing custodial duties, and light errands and procurement duties. This position will work in close coordination with existing plant/project supervisors, shift supervisors, operations, engineers, and tradespeople. This position supports Tacora Resources and Iron Ore Company of Canada on a continual basis in all weather conditions requiring overtime, remote work, 12 hr shifts, scheduled rotations and shutdown/emergency work as required. Ability to commute to flight hub with routes to Wabush, NL Preferred applicants will be local to Labrador City, NL or the surrounding areas Applicants should have their own transportation to and from work. Vehicle use would be provided for site and company duties.

Expectations of Applicant:



Applicants are expected to be proficient and responsible for the following: Issue tools as required. Maintain accurate record of tools taken and returned. Identify broken tools and repair tools or arrange for repairs. Log, record, and quarantine equipment that must be sent for inspection and maintenance/returns Arrange for replacement of missing tools. Maintaining organization of the tool crib Ensure cleanliness of the tools, tool crib areas, and office/lunch trailers. Ability to track and maintain consumable levels Maintain records of work, maintain a clean work environment, focus on safety, respect employer/client policies. Provide training and act as a leader/keeper for fellow employees. Employee will be offered the opportunity for full industrial training to assist with maintenance activities and further their career in the field.

Desired Applicant:



General knowledge of tools is required. A minimum of 2 years previous experience working with tools or in a tool crib. Forklift training is an asset. Experience with parts manuals and identifying components and parts to repair and replace tools is required. Experience with tooling to repair heavy equipment is required. Able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Good verbal and written communications skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Applicant must be able to complete scheduled drug and alcohol testing as required per client(s).

What We Offer:



Long term employment on a consistent scheduled basis of 60hrs per week. Hourly compensation reflective of experience up to $30/hr. Retention bonus for continued employment 12 hr working days - 5 days per week. Overtime after 8 hrs on weekdays, all weekends. Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
