Maintenance Utility Worker

Seascape Coastal retreat, Ingonish, Nova Scotia

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent, Year-round

Hours: 40 hours / week

Wage: $25 -26 / hour (based on experience)

Work Location: On site (Resort facilities)

On-the-job training will be provided. No certification required.

Primary Job Duties

Perform routine inspections of resort buildings, guest units, and common facilities to ensure utilities and building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Carry out basic maintenance and minor repairs to utility-related systems, including plumbing, water supply, drainage, heating, ventilation, and lighting. Assist with the upkeep of electrical fixtures and equipment under supervision, excluding licensed electrical work. Respond to daily maintenance requests related to facilities and utility services. Identify potential maintenance issues and report required repairs to supervisors to prevent operational disruptions. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with workplace safety standards. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and maintenance protocols. Support year-round resort operations through ongoing facilities and utility maintenance.

Operational Flexibility Clause

Based on operational needs, the employee may occasionally be assigned other reasonable facility-related or maintenance-support tasks consistent with their skills and training. Such duties will remain within the scope of general utility and facilities maintenance and will not involve licensed trades or specialized technical work.
