Friday - Sunday (5:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

Role Summary:



The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment and facility systems. This role supports operational uptime, equipment efficiency, and workplace safety. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and or electrical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities & Duties:



Conduct preventative maintenance and equipment inspections. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to reduce downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of completed work. Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements. Collaborate with other trades and production staff to ensure safe and efficient operations. Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions for increased reliability. Perform maintenance on facility, machinery and equipment, including scheduled preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and component replacement as required. Troubleshoot equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. Utilize hand tools including meters, grinders, saws, drills and other equipment effectively. Maintain a clean, organized and efficient workspace Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies. Contribute to the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures to enhance equipment longevity and performance. Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications & Core Competencies:



In-depth knowledge of mechanical automation systems. Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and repair techniques. Willing and available to work overtime, including week days, public holidays, and evenings as required. Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Proven ability to lead by example with integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. Ability to quickly identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and workplace safety standards. Skilled in implementing and following maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability. Strong commitment to workplace safety practices and procedures. Works effectively with cross-functional teams, including production and other trades. Takes ownership of tasks, demonstrates follow-through, and maintains high standards of work. Responds positively to change and remains effective in fast-paced, evolving environment. Prioritizes tasks efficiently to meet maintenance and production deadlines. Clearly communicates with team members, supervisors, and support departments.

Education & Experience:



Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role. Basic knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting (additional certifications are an asset). Experience with CNC and servo systems an asset. Grade 12 Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Valid Ontario Millwright Certification 433A or Ontario Electrician certification 309A or 442A. Experience in an Industrial Automated Manufacturing Environment.

Working Conditions & Environment:



Production environment with exposure to noise and dust. Frequent movement, including climbing stairs and standing for extended periods. Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times while on the production floor.
