Join our team and thrive in a stable and supportive environment that offers career development and upward mobility.The OpportunityWe are actively seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our growing team at AGI Swift Current, a division of AGI. This role would be responsible for ensuring that the building, building systems, production equipment and exterior grounds are maintained at a high level of reliability and safe operating condition. The main areas of focus include meeting production requirements, station set up, health & safety and quality control.The TeamWe are currently a dynamic team of 3 from varied backgrounds. We work closely with the entire AGI Swift Current Team. The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Operations Manager.ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Technician is to ensure that all equipment is maintained on a regular schedule and that down time is minimum to null. assembling processes and procedures are being followed and that quality standards and timelines are being met.- Maintaining a preventative maintenance program for facilities and machinery
- Maintenance and repair of production equipment, including but not limited to CNC Machines, Welders, Paint Line, Overhead Cranes, Air Compressors and Forklifts
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
- Assist with the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
- Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
- Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
- Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
- Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
- Coordination of environmental systems operations including heating, ventilation and air conditioning
- Conduct regular facility inspections and report any variances, damage or concerns to management accordingly
- Work with outside vendors and contractors as needed
- Oversee all yard maintenance and upkeep
- Complete overhead door inspections and complete repairs as needed
- Building maintenance and repair of items including but not limited to restrooms and air filters
- Timely and accurate completion of documentation for completed work, repairs and preventative maintenance
- Work closely with Health and Safety to ensure that work is being completed safely and in accordance with regulations
- Assist with the installation of new equipment according to layouts
- Regular communication with Management and other departments to assist in continuous equipment improvement
- All other duties as assignedQualifications:- Prior maintenance experience considered an asset
- Strong at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks
- Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, and other similar tools
- Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to allow them to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints
- Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues
- Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others
- Able to work independently, with minimal supervision, while part of a team.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Willingness to learn and take instruction.
