Maintenance Technician
.
OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting the uptime, efficiency, and safety of the company's manufacturing equipment and infrastructure. Working as part of the Manufacturing team, this hands-on role includes preventative and corrective maintenance of machinery across thermoforming, rotomoulding, CNC, welding (manual and robotic), fabrication and related production processes. The technician will also contribute to production activities as needed, providing both technical and operational support on the shop floor.
This is a new position being added to support the existing Maintenance Technician to ensure operational continuity and equipment reliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on thermoforming machines, CNC equipment, and other production machinery and facility equipment, utilizing the company's PM systems.
Diagnose, repair, or coordinate service for mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and other arising issues with company equipment.
Assist in tracking, updating, and maintaining maintenance records and documentation using the company's digital maintenance management system.
Participate in installations, upgrades, or modifications of equipment, working with vendors and internal teams as needed.
Monitor equipment condition and report on potential issues or improvements to reduce unplanned downtime.
Participate in cross-functional projects that improve equipment performance or shop efficiency.
Collaborate with the existing Maintenance Technician to share knowledge and build continuity in maintenance practices.
Support production operations by assisting in manufacturing processes, depending on equipment uptime and priorities.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following and promoting company safety procedures and participating in safety-related initiatives.
Support inventory tracking and parts procurement for maintenance supplies and consumables.
Other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the manufacturing facility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Equivalent certification as an Industrial Mechanic preferred; candidates with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally including thermoforming or similar production equipment.
Proficient with hand and power tools, lifting equipment, and related safety procedures.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting (an asset).
Comfortable switching between maintenance and production support roles as needed.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working collaboratively or independently.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, or working in confined spaces.
