Overview


Responsible for solo night-shift maintenance at an ISO 9001:2015 foundry, focused on completing scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) checklists, performing hands-on mechanical work, and documenting clear handoffs for the day crew. Role reduces daytime overtime and production downtime by ensuring machines and systems (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic) are routinely inspected, repaired, and reported. Candidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently in confined, dirty environments while following safety protocols.

Responsibilities:



Complete scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) checklists each shift and log results accurately Inspect machines and equipment nightly for wear, leaks, and safety risks; escalate as required. Diagnose and perform hands-on mechanical repairs on pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems within scope. Implement immediate fixes to minimize downtime and clearly document any temporary workarounds Provide clear written handoffs and reports for the day shift, including flagged issues and recommended follow-ups Maintain tools, parts, and work areas--restock commonly used items and keep storage organized. Follow lockout/tagout, confined space, and other safety procedures at all times Contact day-shift maintenance or onsite evening personnel for backup on complex or emergency issues

Requirements (must-haves):



Proven maintenance experience (industrial or manufacturing environments) Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and confidence using manual tools. Reliable history of time management and completing assigned routines/tasks. Ability to read and write clear English for logs, reports, and safety communication. Willingness to work full-time nights and be available for occasional day-shift training and weekend work. Comfortable working in confined, dirty, and heavy-industrial environments. Demonstrated attention to detail and methodical approach to completing PM checklists. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow established procedures.

Nice to Have:



Experience with foundry equipment, gray or ductile iron foundry processes, or heavy-casting machinery Basic pneumatic or hydraulic troubleshooting experience Prior experience with ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality/safety systems
