MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.

This position will be located in Langley, BC. We are looking for a full-time and part-time employee.

The

Laboratory Maintenance Technician

is responsible for ensuring that all laboratory equipment, instruments, and facilities are properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning safely and efficiently. The technician supports laboratory operations by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs. In addition, the technician is responsible for operating and maintaining company trucks and forklifts to support laboratory logistics, transportation and material handling needs.

Responsibilities



Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and functional checks on laboratory equipment and instruments. Conduct minor repairs and adjustments, report major repairs to the maintenance manager. Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, calibration records, and equipment histories. Ensure laboratory facilities are clean, safe, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. Assist with installation, relocation, and setup of laboratory instruments and workstations. Safely operate company trucks for transporting materials, samples, equipment, and supplies between facilities or designated locations. Operate forklifts for loading, unloading, and internal movement of materials. Conduct routine inspection and basic maintenance of trucks and forklifts, such as fluid checks, tire inspection, cleaning, and reporting mechanical issues. Assist with maintaining inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Support the receiving, storage, and distribution of laboratory materials. Follow all laboratory safety procedures, including PPE use, chemical handling, and equipment operation protocols. Promote a safe working environment by identifying and reporting potential hazards. Report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor or manager. Report any non-conforming event related to the used of equipment or company property to the Supervisor or manager. Act in a safe and professional manner and comply to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations and MSALABS safety policies. Some lifting is required, up to 50lbs. Requirements



1-2 years experience with excellent performance in Sample Preparation. Prior experience in facility maintenance, equipment servicing, or a technical support role preferred Proficient in general computer operations and familiar with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) Strong mechanical, technical, and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with laboratory instruments and facility systems. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics. Good communication, record-keeping, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a dusty and noisy environment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to accept additional task

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
