Job Profile




The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and repairs to our Hotel, Restaurant neighboring Administration Building and Parking Areas. The Maintenance Technician helps ensure the facilities are maintained up to our high standards.

Duties and Responsibilities



Proven ability to work well independently Proficient and organized reporting Collaborates effectively with team members and management Shares own skillset to provide active training and create Standard Operating Procedures Works with the Director of Operations to develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation Strongly familiar with safety policies, procedures, and has proven safety record Ensures work orders are being completed in a timely manner Responds quickly in the event of an emergency, notifies appropriate personnel, and follows safety protocols Implements preventative maintenance measures Plans and oversees assigned repair and installation activities Monitors equipment inventory and places orders when relevant Keep computerized maintenance logs and reports on daily activities Carries out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues Manages relationships with contractors and service providers Performs minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies Performs basic IT related duties including, but not limited to: working with external service providers, troubleshooting servers and/or system errors

Qualifications



2 Years of progressively increasing responsibilities in a maintenance setting Positive attitude and proven record of working well with other team members and members of the public Promotes continuous improvement, proactive mindset Excellent written and oral communication Solid understanding of small power tools, painting, dry wall repairs, basic plumbing High school diploma or equivalent, schooling in trades an asset Must be willing to work in Kamloops, BC Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications



2 Years of leadership experience HVAC Experience Experience in planning maintenance operations 5 - 10 Years of progressively increasing responsibilities in a maintenance setting

Working conditions



Fast-paced environment Shift Schedule-4day/10hour shift, Sunday-Wednesday Variety of Hours-possible Holidays, Weekends. On Call evenings during work days or emergencies (limited) Standing and/or walking for long periods of time Outside and Indoor working environment (i.e. hot, cold, dust, wind, etc.)

Physical requirements



Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 50 pounds * Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
