Overview:

The Edmonton Soccer Association Facilities is hiring for a Maintenance Technician position who will float between our outdoor Complex (Bill Gilhespy Soccer Complex), located at 14920- 142 Street, and our Indoor Facilities, located at 6520 Roper Road, 12720 Victoria trail and 17415 106 a Ave.

This position is a full time position starting immediately. Hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

We

require

candidates to have experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. General knowledge in basic facility maintenance is a definite asset. Successful candidates will be asked to provide a police security clearance at their own cost.

Description and responsibilities are as follows:

MAINTENANCE Technician: Floater West, East and South Indoor Facilities

The Maintenance Tech (MT) repairs and maintains their designated center or centers. He/She reports directly to the Maintenance Manager, providing reports on all required maintenance and repairs (performed or required) to building(s), equipment and exterior property.

MAINTENANCE floating Technician: Bill Gilhespy Soccer Complex

The outdoor Complex facility houses a clubhouse, two artificial turfs and 11 full size grass fields. Duties include repairs and maintenance of the building and grounds which could also include mowing, trimming, fertilizing, watering, lining of fields, grooming and maintenance of artificial turf fields and general maintenance of equipment and facility. The Maintenance floating tech would report directly to the maintenance Manager unless spending extended times at this location in the summer in which they would report to the Grounds maintenance supervisor.

Main Responsibilities:

A. Building Maintenance:

Performs daily building checks; Reports all required repairs & parts needed; Confers with the Maintenance Manager and at times with the Facility Supervisoras to upcoming scheduled/emergency maintenance or any upcoming major repairs that could impact building operations. Maintains and repairs all equipment, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and machinery; Ensures all washrooms & showers are operational. Ensures field areas are safe to play on. Carries out all necessary maintenance/repairs as requested or scheduled; Performs turf installation & removal, and supervision of turf staff when necessary; Assists with safety inspections and preventative maintenance programs; Identifies and oversees necessary repairs; Evaluates monthly, all maintenance issues; When necessary, assists at other facilities as directed by the Maintenance Managerfrom time to time; Reports all needs for repair and requests for repair to the Maintenance Manager*.
Mows lawn areas, performs weed control and general lawn care on exterior property; At times, assists with set-up and take-down for special events; At times, assist with deliveries; De-ices all sidewalks as often as required to ensure safety; To be on call at times for emergencies; Other duties as required
The successful candidate must have their own vehicle or reliable transportation.
