Job Description


AGAT Laboratories is a full-service laboratory with locations across Canada. We are the most diversified laboratory in Canada and our scientists are highly-skilled and specialized in the fields of biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, geology, engineering and other specialty services. With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors. Maintenance personnel are responsible for ensuring that amenities are operating at maximum efficiency. You will be dealing with all manner of maintenance tasks ranging from painting through to plumbing and electrical. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough clean-up of the painting or repair area.
  • Maintaining and storing equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance where required and maintain all records.
  • Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, replace electrical switches and outlets.
  • Act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status and inform Management of any such emergencies.
  • Ensure own safety, and the safety of co-workers and follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • Install and maintain a wide range of machinery as directed by Operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Emphasis in Technical Trades, two or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a Technical Trade.
  • Two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as Maintenance Technician.
  • Operator Certificate or equivalent trade experience.
  • Must hold a valid Alberta Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.
  • Clear drivers abstract.
  • Forklift and Manlift experience (certification not requird)
  • Some lifting and carrying (up to 22kgs).
This position requires proficiency in any one of the following categories, average skills in two more of the following categories and basic skills in the remaining categories.
  • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
  • Welding
  • Metalworking.
  • Electrical.
  • Mechanical.
  • Plumbing.
  • Machining.
  • Building maintenance.
