Job brief
We are currently looking for Maintenance Technician to join our Food Manufacturing facility based in BRANTFORD, Ontario. In this position, the Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Assist production team with set-up, changeover and in operation of food packaging equipment, R085, manual sealer and vacuum tumblers.
Ensure all safety and work procedures are followed
Contribute to projects to improve efficiency using automation and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility
Work with our Quality control teams to ensure all automated equipment meets, if not exceeds, regulatory standards
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to perform scheduled preventive maintenance of all the equipment using the appropriate job plans and procedures
Train new hires according to training plan for machine operation when required
Conducts routine production Line maintenance and repairs such as: replacement of belts, cleaning, and repair of filling heads, troubleshooting performance issues.
Troubleshoot any mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical equipment failures and repair/adjust them using hand/power tools and work along with Production for alternatives options under downtime
Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, or replace components such as proximity sensors, photo eyes, PLC's, HMI of all machines.
Responsible for building/facility needs such as painting, cleaning, fire/safety equipment, light bulb changes and other general facility needs
Maintain and store department inventory, including spare parts and keep records documented
Other Duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
6 plus years of hands-on work experience in manufacturing, preferred in Food manufacturing.
You must live 20 minutes away and be available for emergencies and can work split shifts.
Must have knowledge to read electric schematic diagram.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication, written and reading knowledge of the English language
Able to work weekends when required
Strong multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills with an eye for continuous improvement
Strong ability and ability to drive action
Strong mechanical aptitude coupled with troubleshooting skills
Good understanding of food safety standards and GMPs.
