Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and licensed
Maintenance Technician (442A)
to support the maintenance and reliability of production equipment used in flexible packaging manufacturing. The ideal candidate will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while supporting TPM initiatives to improve equipment uptime, efficiency, and overall performance. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment including flexographic presses, laminators, slitters, bag-making machines, air compressors, chillers, dryers, and corona treaters.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including motors, sensors, drives, gearboxes, and related components.
Diagnose issues related to PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motor control systems; assist with automation upgrades involving Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and B&R platforms.
Complete all scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and utilize predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic testing to minimize breakdowns.
Participate actively in TPM, Kaizen, and 5S activities to reduce downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Adhere to all safety regulations including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), ESA, CSA, and OSHA standards while maintaining GMP and HACCP compliance within the facility.
Document all maintenance activities and maintain accurate records within the CMMS system.
Qualifications
Valid
Industrial Electrician 442A License
(required).
3-5 years of maintenance experience in flexible packaging, plastics, printing, or a related manufacturing environment.
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Experience with web-handling equipment, tension control systems, PLCs, VFDs, and servo motors.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and work orders within a CMMS.
