Job Description

We are a North American Leader in the Fabrication sectors with operations across Canada, and the USA. We are a fully integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing steel components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining, energy, heavy truck and industrial sectors.

We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facility systems to ensure continuous and safe operation of production and support areas. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

This role reports to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and systems (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical). Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs. Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, press brakes, welders, conveyors, and fabrication tools. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize production interruptions. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including parts used and time spent on jobs. Assist with installation, relocation, and setup of new equipment and systems. Requires hands-on experience with laser and plasma cutting machines, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting (Trumpf, Bystronic, Fiber, CO2 Machines) Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies and order replacements as needed. Performs other duties as necessary in support of departmental goals. Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical technology, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role, preferably in a metal fabrication environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding/fabrication tools. PLC troubleshooting experience a plus. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
