Windermere House, a historic and picturesque resort in Muskoka is seeking a skilled and dedicated
Maintenance Supervisor
to lead our maintenance team. This position is critical to ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities, which include guest accommodations, dining areas, recreational facilities, and staff housing.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Perform regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
Plan and execute preventative maintenance programs to ensure the optimal functioning of equipment and infrastructure.
Manage repairs and maintenance tasks related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, landscaping and pools.
Collaborate with other departments to address guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including overseeing fire safety protocols and emergency response systems.
Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and coordinate purchasing as needed.
Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Support seasonal transitions, including opening and closing the resort, as well as any necessary winterization tasks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a maintenance or supervisory role, preferably in the hospitality or property management industry.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair practices.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices is considered an asset.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license and ability to operate maintenance equipment as required.
