Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor position is a critical role that has overall accountability for all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the retirement home.

As part of our team, your role as a Maintenance Supervisor contributes to our resident experiences in the following ways:



Performs a variety of routine/preventative maintenance, servicing and repair operations to maintain the home, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds in proper condition. Performs general carpentry work and repairs such as installing floor and wall tiles, repairing dry wall, replacing doors and hardware, painting activities, etc. Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and arranges for repairs, as required. Conducts daily maintenance rounds to ensure all life safety and building and support systems are functioning properly. Performs general maintenance and minor repairs to plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems within scope of work, such as replacing water valves, fixing leaks, clearing drains and removing blockages, replacing fixtures, replacing light bulbs and switches, etc. Ensures compliance to relevant legislation including but not limited to: Ministry Acts, regulations, policies and procedures and directives for all maintenance activities.

Maintains an organized system of records management for maintenance work. Works in accordance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Three to five years relevant maintenance and building experience, preferably in the retirement home sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems and commercial renovation and upkeep activities.
Must posses excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to be read, interpret and understand manuals and plans related to mechanical, electrical and architectural.
All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector check.
Have a passion to work with the senior population.
