Our facility in Mississauga is looking for a Maintenance / Refrigerator Operator (Class A) to join the team!

Responsibilities

Ensures daily inspection of the refrigeration plants that all systems are operating in a safe and expected manner; monitor system performance Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of refrigeration equipment for the bakery Maintain and ensure total awareness of and compliance to all Safety regulatory legislation through TSSA Read and interpret blueprints and schematics Ensures the recording of data and all relevant information to the operation of the bakery and maintain history of all critical equipment Perform scheduled Freon leak checks and report any leaks found, complete online records Respond to alarms, emergencies and/or equipment failures in a timely and efficient manner Maintain refrigeration spare parts inventory, including Freon levels Maintain good housekeeping within the engine room including 5S Coordinate with leadership, operations, sanitation, maintenance and health & safety teams Support continuous improvement initiatives within the bakery / plant

Requirements:

Valid Ontario Refrigeration Operator Class A (TSSA) Experience in food-processing, cold storage and/or manufacturing is required Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Familiarity with industrial refrigerants (ammonia, CO?, etc.) and compliance standards Willingness to work various shifts, emergency on-call and rotational duties Good documentation and safety-conscious work ethic Strong teamwork and communication skills Work in industrial settings: cold storage rooms, engine rooms, compressor rooms, mechanical rooms, possibly in varying temperatures (cold, near freezers, etc.). Ability to climb, access confined areas, work at heights, lift/move heavy equipment (pumps, valves, tools). Proficient in using mechanical and power tools Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE), safety protocols, lock-out / tag-out procedures.
