POSITION: MAINTENANCE POWER ENGINEER 4TH CLASS - PHSA

JOB TYPE: FULL-TIME PERMANENT

STARTING WAGE: $34.52/hr

WORKING HOURS: 9 am to 5 pm

START DATE: ASAP

LOCATION: 600 WEST 10TH AVENUE VANCOUVER, BC, V5Z 4E6

Responsibilities

• Operating chillers, expansible fluid, and air conditioning systems
• Monitoring and recording meter and gauge readings to ensure the distribution of steam/air heating to designated areas
• Performing preventative and demand maintenance on heat exchangers, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
• Testing and maintaining chillers, pumps, and cooling towers, and repairs/adjusts as required
• Performing water treatment analyses and adding chemicals
• Maintaining and repairing steam piping systems including valves, steam traps, strainers, etc.
• Performing mechanical and electrical repairs on systems such as heating, air-handling, and pneumatic tube systems
• Plastering, painting, and decorating by selecting and applying a variety of paint, plaster, and wall coverings
• Processing individual purchase requests and preparing purchase orders based on request
• Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment in accordance with standard procedures
• Reporting unsafe situations by notifying the supervisor or other appropriate personnel
• Performing other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Graduation in power engineering from a recognized institution is a must
• Relevant experience of 4 years, or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience
• Certificate of competency as a 4th class power engineer
• Ability to communicate efficiently both in a verbal and written manner
• Interpersonal and organizational skills
• Physical ability to perform the job\'s requirements is required
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
• Ability to use relevant machinery
