We have an opportunity within the Engineering and Site Services Department at the Gahcho Ku\xc3\xa9 Mine, based in the Northwest Territories. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor the incumbent will be responsible for integrating and maintaining site services and scheduling system while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect the values of De Beers. Primary responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal schedules in SAP for maintenance activities according to production needs and resource availability to minimize downtime or production losses;
  • Analyzing and interpreting maintenance trends and variances and initiating required corrective action;
  • Issuing work orders according to production needs and resource availability;
  • Submit warehouse stock and direct charge material requests for project works
  • Monitoring work orders to determine maintenance status and efficiently managing backlogged work;
  • Conduct weekly backlog review meetings
  • Create and update equipment, material, and functional location BOMs
  • Liaise with Site Services trades people to scope and plan upcoming work
  • Producing a monthly weekly KPI report and to communicating status updates to stakeholders;
  • Developing and implementing practices to ensure quality, safety and efficiency of procedures; and
  • Attending daily maintenance meetings to guide the supervisor in daily assignment activities.
  • Perform field assessments of work to be completed and coordinate with the trades to ensure work is completed as per planning.
  • Any other tasks as required.
The role is based within the Engineering and Site Services team this role would be working within team and is a site-based position that will be a (2) two weeks on, (2) weeks off rotation.

Qualifications
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada;
  • University degree or a valid Inter-provincial trade qualification certificate in a related field;
  • Certification or advanced training in maintenance planning;
  • Minimum three (3) years in a planning role and or maintenance scheduling in a mining environment;
  • Strong SAP, computer and MS Office skills including MS Project, Visio and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with project scheduling software and computer aided drafting packages would be an asset;
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental Standards; and
  • Experience working at a remote mining site and in a cross-cultural work environment would be beneficial but not required.
Please note: Preference will be given to Members of the Deninu Ku\xc3\xa9, Lutsel K\'e Dene First Nation, North Slave M\xc3\xa9tis Alliance, Northwest Territory M\xc3\xa9tis Nation, Tlicho Government, or Yellowknives Dene First Nation, followed by non-indigenous residents of the Northwest Territories or a resident of the Northwest Territories.
