What\'s the job?

The maintenance planner effectively co-ordinates day to day maintenance work plans and manage storeroom to ensure parts availability to meet plant equipment availability and spare parts demand. He will lead equipment modifications to improve reliability. He will lead on-union mechanics and Stock Room salary personnel. He will be leading CAPEX projects and WCM Projects.

  • Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process.
  • Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair / preventive / predictive / design-out activities on the organization\'s plant and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor to schedule manpower and resources for the most effective production and maintenance outcomes.
  • Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work. Schedule maintenance work in to production plan.
  • Maintaining, developing and entering machine and part data into computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Preparing and issuing of maintenance work orders, as required.
  • Supervise Non-Union mechanic and Stock Room salary personnel in-charge.
  • Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality.
  • Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database.
  • Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of technical information on processes, plant and equipment.
  • Assist with project and shutdown scheduling.
  • Continually improving planning, scheduling, purchasing, stores, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Able and competent in root cause failure analysis and investigations.
  • Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment reliability and for storeroom efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead and direct the storeroom personnel to ensure:
  • Effective and standard storeroom practices are implemented and followed for Safety, Storeroom organization and management.
  • The purchase and availability of inventory necessary for repairs and operations.
  • Periodic auditing of daily inventory of products, cycle counts, and reporting data.
  • Manage stores item procurement, inventory, invoices, and receipts.
  • Responsible for leading and executing the 5S activities to maintain the storeroom to standard.
  • Responsible for the shipping/receiving processes associated with equipment repairs.
  • Responsible to assure environmental compliance for hazardous materials storage and all related reporting, auditing and tracking of inventory.
  • Plan and make modifications to improve reliability of equipment.
  • Work on Capex projects.
  • Participate in Reliability improvement and modify existing drawings using AutoCAD. Store and maintain drawing of various assets in CMMS system.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture by instilling World Class Manufacturing methodology.
  • Actively participate in plant safety programs and maintain a knowledge and understanding of Process Safety Management and safety standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?
  • Post secondary degree, preferrably a diploma in engineering technology or technical trades background.
  • 2-3 years experience in a maintenance function, preferably a planning function in an industrial environment.
  • 2 years experience planning in SAP maintenance module prefered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in an unionized work environment is an asset

  • Some exposure to Lean manufacturing principles, World Class Manufacturing tools Etc.
  • Technical Skill trade certification
Fiscal responsibility
  • Responsible for most maintenance purchasing and adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and adequate levels of spare parts in our warehouses.
Supervisory responsibility
  • Assist with supervision of maintenance employees as required.
  • Supervise our own personnel and contractors as needed
