We are currently hiring a Maintenance Planner to join the maintenance team at our Underground Salt Mine in Goderich, Ontario.

This is an on-site position; Not a Fly in/Fly out.





Compass Minerals' Goderich Salt Mine, located 1,800 feet under Lake Huron, is the largest underground salt mine in the world. The mine is as deep as the CN Tower in Toronto is tall. The rock salt produced at the mine is used to keep citizens in North America safe as they travel through winter snow and ice. The salt is shipped to hundreds of communities around the Great Lakes and along the St. Lawrence Seaway. Some of the salt is trucked to the Compass Minerals plant less than 4 kilometers away, to be packaged for distribution and sale at retailers in North America. The salt is also sold in bulk to manufacturers that make plastics, detergents, disinfectants and other important products.



Goderich is named Canada's Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1.5 hours from London and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.


HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM?





This position is responsible for the daily planning and scheduling of all non-emergency work done by the Maintenance Department but will also manage maintenance information, issue of PM schedules and plans, maintain records and compile reports as required.


Direct the maintenance workforce for the repair and upgrading of equipment Troubleshoot equipment problems throughout areas of responsibility; determine maintenance needs, schedule repairs and review progress Modify production schedule as needed to meet demands or accommodate changes Have input to develop equipment and process needs within the department budget Provide preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and plan work and/or repair functions on the fixed and mobile equipment Plan and schedule maintenance and continuous improvement projects to optimize existing systems and new capital installations Maintain equipment work order backlog Maintain accurate Equipment Parts List for department equipment Perform other related duties, as required.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?




Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience and 4 - 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Industrial Millwright or Heavy Duty Mechanic License, with minimum 5 years' experience as tradesperson Experience in heavy industrial environment Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills Experience in CMMS software, preferably JD Edwards Enterprise One Proficient in Microsoft Office programs with expert skills in MS Excel
