The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all planned maintenance work performed. As a key member of the maintenance organization, this position is responsible for ensuring the maintenance operating system is designed, executed, and continuously improved to ensure our assets are maintained at base condition.
Specific Responsibilities
Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that maintenance duties are effectively executed.
Estimate labor hours and cost and plan jobs and materials. Prioritize and schedule asset maintenance related assignments to technicians and operators.
Maintain, prioritize and schedule preventive maintenance to ensure maximum protection of the plant assets.
Identify, write & continuously improve PMIs (periodic maintenance & inspections).
Organize and maintain spare parts lists, maintenance manuals, and drawings.
Order spare parts and organize and maintain spare parts inventory.
Manage the Maintenance Operating System (MOS). Establish preventive and predictive maintenance process through the Maintenance Operating System, work order tracking and usages.
Participate in daily production meetings and monthly operations planning meetings to prioritize and schedule work.
Provide support as needed to maintenance technicians and operators.
Provide technical assistance to the maintenance group, assist in troubleshooting and other problem-solving/coordinating assignments. Coordinate contractor assignments.
Use data and statistical problem-solving techniques to improve the plant reliability as measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) while reducing unit cost.
Maintain the Daily, Weekly and Monthly KPI reports
Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Can be physically demanding at times. The position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stretching, stooping, bending, and use of hands and fingers.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
Must be able to hear and have color vision.
Required to work off shifts and weekends as needed
Qualifications
Technical degree preferred.
1-3 years of maintenance or applicable experience required.
Experience with PMXpert or relevant computerized maintenance operating system required.
Experience with AutoCAD helpful.
Strong knowledge of food manufacturing, FDA/USDA, OSHA and EPA regulations.
Strong computer skills including experience with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office.
Experience in packaging equipment industry experience required.
Strong mechanical and planning aptitude.
Excellent skills in the areas of teamwork, decision-making, relationship building and teaching employees.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
