The Maintenance Planner and Project Coordinator is a member of the Maintenance Department reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Planner and Project Coordinator is responsible for the planning coordination and scheduling of maintenance work to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of equipment reliability. This position is also responsible for the development and management of projects throughout the facility. This includes, but is not limited to planning, implementing and monitoring project progress to ensure conformance to the scope of the project.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
TechnicalUtilize computer applications such as MaintainX for the purpose of data collection/analysis.
Creates and manages work orders and documentation within a CMMS.
Analyzes data and initiates corrective actions for problems identified through vibration analysis.
Analyzes data from oil analysis and initiates corrective actions for problems identified through lube oil analysis.
Conducts root cause analysis and develops solutions.
Updates PLATS and drawings using AutoCAD or similar applications.
Review engineering drawings related to projects and equipment.
Create and update standard operating procedures for maintenance related activities and equipment.
Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce failures and interference within production.
Troubleshoot breakdowns and process issues.
Lead daily monitoring activities of all areas of the mill working closely with hourly maintenance personnel in a supervisory capacity to ensure good system operability
ManagementImplements and maintains documented systems of improvements of preventive maintenance programs, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment condition monitoring, vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, failure analysis, and other preventive, predictive or proactive maintenance strategies.
Maintains history for each piece of controlled equipment.
Assist in the coordination of adequate manpower.
Collect and review mill tow-motor daily inspections and coordinate repair work with supplier when needed.
Maintains backlog file of work orders waiting scheduling in accordance with their priority limits. Prepares backlog reports for this area of responsibility (active work order report by equipment).
Ensure optimal level stock of spare parts and materials and manage documentation.
Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring that projects remain within scope, schedule, and budget.
CommunicationLiaise with managers and clients to define project requirements, scopes, and objectives that align with organizational goals.
Report project risks and outcomes to appropriate management channels and escalate issues according to project work plan.
Serve as a point of communication between company teams and external resources.
Deepen partnerships with outside resources, including third-party vendors.
Communicate plans, actions, risks, and issues with key stakeholders.
Works with Engineering Contractors if specialized advice is required or consults with them as required.
Facilitates and participates as needed in "Pre" and "Post" shutdown meetings.
Have daily interactions with maintenance crews and/or other departments and encourage good communication between levels to ensure adherence to budgets.
Provide call in support for all areas of mill maintenance.
QualificationsPossesses certificate in Mechanical Engineering/Technician.
Knowledge of CMMS Software.
Excellent interpersonal, time/project management, organizational, analytical, recordkeeping, work prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Computer experience includes Microsoft Office products and engineering software such as AutoCAD, and electronic work-order request systems.
Knowledge and experience with preventative maintenance scheduling, inventory management, and labor/material planning.
