The Role



Holiday Inn Burlington Hotel and Conference Centre is looking for its newest member to add to the team! We are a happy, organized and driven team focused on guest satisfaction.

We are looking for a reliable, handy and self motivated individual to join our Maintenance team.

Activities:



The duties and responsibilities for the maintenance worker include, but are not limited to the following:

Assist with the general maintenance and repair of building and equipment work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by: prioritizing and responding to all guests/rooms and internal requests, promptly and effectively, as required. Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms meeting rooms the swimming pool. Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms. Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request. Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk. Outdoor work required - garden and parking maintenance, Winter snow removal and shoveling. Accurately maintain work-order and other tracking systems. Ensure compliance to all hotel policies, standards, procedures and practices. Actively demonstrate teamwork, safe work practices, open communication, accuracy in transactions, respect, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy. Assist other associates/ departments and undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required

Competencies We Are Seeking:



Technically proficient Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment ~ hours will fluctuate, and holidays, evening and weekend work is required Familiarity with the inner workings of a hotel (e.g. plumbing, electrical, sewer, and HVAC systems) Ability to identify safety risks and develop a plan of action quickly Problem-solving aptitude Ability to work long hours on your feet

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
