McCain Fertilizer is currently seeking a knowledgeable Maintenance Person at our Middleton, PEI blending facility. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing site maintenance and support to other operation functions, while always ensuring a safe work environment.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee the maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained properly
• Verbally communicate identified Emergency/Urgent repair problems accurately and efficiently to operations supervisor
• Foster a safe work environment and promote continuous improvement initiatives in regards to workplace safety.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment and buildings
• Willing and capable of doing some exterior physical labor in varying weather conditions as required
• Willing and capable to work at heights
• Provide a day-to-day support to the Site Supervisor, overseeing the blending facility to ensure customer orders are completed in a safe, timely and diligent manner.
• Aid the Site Supervisor in leading seasonal staff during the blending season.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College diploma or Journeymen Trade certificate in the fields of either electrical, mechanical or welding fabrication would be a definite asset. Individuals with significant work experience in any of these trades but not licensed will be considered.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift and skid loader would be an asset
• Class 3A license, or willing to get licensed
• Able to work extended hours during the spring blending season
• Possess a Strong Safety record.
• Must work with a sense of urgency
• Ability to safety lift/move 40 lbs

Wage range of $18 - $20 an hour
