Purpose

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager that will lead our ambitious, fast-growing, and highly motivated teams across our Sierra Processing facilities. We are looking for some with passion and purpose who will take a leading role across our Facility Management & maintenance function. Our processing center is the beating heart of our operations ensuring our production and processing needs are complete, on time and with the right quality.

Accountabilities and Detailed Activity:

You will Manage two dynamic plants, which include 12 direct reports (10 Maintenance Technicians and 2 Supervisors) responsible for all our facility-related processes.

Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems within the plants.

Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.

Continuously improve maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce maintenance downtime.

Lead the commissioning of new production lines and equipment in the plant.

Manage the maintenance budget, including parts, labour, and other plant-related expenditures (structural, mechanical).

Stakeholder owning the annual budget for the maintenance department.

Possess a sound knowledge of refrigeration systems, which is considered an asset.

Foster a positive and collaborative working environment with a younger team of ten maintenance technicians and two supervisors.

Motivate and drive the technicians, millwrights, and electricians to achieve their goals and support their professional growth.

Your team ensures all installations run perfectly and our fulfillment center is known as a (food) safe, clean, and fantastic work environment.

In this role you are working together with many stakeholders (Operations, Food Safety and Health & Safety) to make sure projects run smoothly, all (audit) standards are met, and new initiatives can be tested and introduced, as well as being responsible for managing the overall performance of your team.

Competencies:

Proven experience managing two dynamic plants and leading teams.

Track record of process improvement from a maintenance perspective.

Experience in reducing maintenance downtime.

Familiarity with commissioning new production lines and equipment.

Proficiency in managing maintenance budgets and expenditures.

Knowledge of refrigeration systems is advantageous.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively manage a young and energetic team.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and/or Professional Designation:

A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Facility Management, preferably in a production or process centre environment.

Strong organizational & contractor management skills

2 years of demonstrated experience managing projects. As a strong communicator, you know how to get your team motivated and with your ruthless prioritization you, or your team members, set up and finish projects successfully.

Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering (or related field).

Professional Engineer (PEO) designation is required.

Experience:

Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in a food environment.

Demonstrated ability to implement preventative maintenance strategies effectively.

Language Skills:

Fluency in English is required.

Technical Skills:

Computer literacy: intermediate-level spreadsheets, word processing, statistics, and Applications.

Good mathematical skills

Knowledge of safe food handling, GMPs, food plant sanitation, HACCP.

Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.).

Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.

Understanding of budgeting and performance management.

Mechanical repair experience and aptitude is a must.

Control system experience is a plus.

Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints and Electrical Schematics

Soft Skills:

Knowledge of industry regulatory requirements.
