Maintenance Manager (AME M1 & M2) - Aspen Air Charters

We're looking for a full-time Maintenance Manager who also holds both valid M1 & M2 AME licenses to lead our maintenance department and perform hands-on maintenance on our fleet. This role ensures our aircraft operate at peak performance, maintaining the highest safety, compliance, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Airworthiness Oversight
Lead and manage all maintenance activities, ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations, approved company manuals, and manufacturer data.
Maintain oversight of all technical records, audits, and maintenance documentation systems.
Hands-on Aircraft Maintenance (AME M1 & M2)
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on twin piston aircraft.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, engine, and basic avionics issues.
Complete accurate logbook entries, work orders, and required documentation in compliance with CARs and internal procedures.
Leadership and Team Management
Supervise AMEs and apprentices, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and performance support.
Foster a safety-driven, professional, and accountable team environment.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
Develop short- and long-term maintenance schedules in coordination with Operations.
Prioritize aircraft availability while minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.
Parts, Inventory, and Vendor Coordination
Oversee parts receiving, inventory control, and procurement.
Manage vendor relationships including third-party maintenance facilities and suppliers.
Safety and Continuous Improvement
Support the company's Safety Management System with proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation.
Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, reduce operational costs, and enhance maintenance efficiency.
Facility and Equipment Management
Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and security of the hangar, tooling, and company equipment.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
What You Bring
Licensing and Experience
Valid Transport Canada AME License (M1 & M2 are both required).
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience including hands on piston aircraft work.
Experience with Piper Navajos or similar airframes is an asset.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong troubleshooting skills across airframe, engine, and related systems.
Knowledge of CARs and maintenance control procedures.
Proficiency in digital record keeping and Microsoft Office.
