Maintenance Manager (Hands-On)

Staybridge Suites by IHG - London is seeking an

additional Maintenance Manager

to support the daily maintenance and upkeep of the hotel. This is a

fully hands-on role

suited to an experienced maintenance professional who is comfortable working independently and responding directly to maintenance issues across the property.

Administrative duties are limited and relate primarily to preventative maintenance tracking and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out hands-on maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, carpentry, locksmithing, and general repairs. Respond directly to maintenance requests from hotel departments to minimize guest impact. Complete routine inspections and scheduled preventative maintenance in guest suites, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system faults efficiently. Perform minor groundskeeping, pool maintenance, and water quality testing as required. Liaise with external contractors when specialist work is required. Maintain basic records of completed repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance issues as required.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' Canadian maintenance experience

in a hotel, residential, or commercial property. Strong hands-on technical skills across multiple maintenance trades. Trade certification, engineering diploma, or relevant technical training preferred. Solid working knowledge of Canadian building codes, fire regulations, and health & safety standards. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable, practical, and solution-focused approach to work. Basic computer skills; maintenance tracking system experience is an asset. Valid driver's license preferred.

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident legally entitled to work in Canada.

Availability for on-call and emergency response.
