Job Description

Under the responsibility of the Unit Manager, supervises and coordinates activities of all the workers engaged in his department. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in plant.

Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:



Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable health & safety legislations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Directs workers for electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery Does requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers, and assigns duties Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product and to increase efficiency of department or work crew Ensures that all health & safety legislation, safe procedures and requirement (with particular attention to article 27 (1) and (2) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments) are respected, including participating in regular inspection with the Unit Manager and takes all necessary action on reported hazard Defines, schedules, implements and documents preventive maintenance of industrial equipment and building systems Participate in implementing safe procedures (SOP) for his department Directs maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery that promotes efficient plant operations while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and company policies and procedures; Develops and implements capital projects to correct deficiencies and improve plant operations Oversees the preparation of bids and participates in the awarding of contracts for outside services and acquisitions. Insures the effective supervision of contractor employees while on plant premises Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications

Requirements for this position:



Education: Bachelor's in mechanical engineering 10 years of related experience Written and spoken languages: English Knowledge of automation software: Microsoft Suite Office Knowledge of technical software: Autocad, Mainboss Knowledge of mechanical processes and project management Complex tasks execution and problem-solving techniques Safe practices, health and safety, first aid in workplace Supervision skills Sense of planning and organization, time and priorities management and can work under pressure. Analytical capacity, synthesizing mind and professional judgement Capacity to challenge situation or people Rigorous Leadership, innovative capacity, team spirit, business knowledge, sense of customer service and proactivity

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
