We are recruiting a

Maintenance Lead

to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring production is supported through proper preventative and reactive maintenance.

Job Summary



The Maintenance Lead will manage and perform the maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and machinery to ensure efficiency, safety, and longevity. This role provides mentorship to a junior maintenance member who is currently undertaking their Red Seal Millwright certification. You will be in charge of completing repairs, assigning tasks and ensuring that jobs are completed in a timely and safe manner. This position is also responsible for ordering and maintaining operating supplies, as well as ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Duties and responsibilities



Conduct yourself in a safe, professional manner at all times

Prioritize, schedule and assign maintenance activities; internally and with external contractors

Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner, and comply with applicable regulations

Mentor junior maintenance staff on proper work procedures and safety practices

Perform machine and equipment installations, calibrations, and repairs

Manage recurring and routine maintenance inspections and tasks

Respond to emergency break-downs; trouble shoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and low-voltage electrical

Coordinate specialized contractors for repairs, as required

Complete building and facility repairs

Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance of equipment and minimal downtime

Log and track maintenance requests and inspection findings

Manage spare parts, tools and inventory to ensure operational inventory is on-hand

Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area and ensure any area being worked on is cleaned once complete

Continual improvement of maintenance processes

Other duties as required

Education and Experience



Red Seal or BC Journey-Level Millwright certification required

Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures

Experience troubleshooting a variety of equipment types including: hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical

Comfortable using a computer for email and interactions with our ERP system

Ideally, you are someone who:



Can utilize the application of common trade practices, which may include, but not limited to, welding, metalwork, machining, fitting, electrical wiring, and fault detection

Has clear written and verbal communication in English

Has good collaboration skills, working with other departments, like production, to plan maintenance activities to minimize disruption to operations

Is a self-starter, who can work independently or as part of a team

Has good organization skills; able to effectively manage time and energy, respecting deadlines and responding appropriately when urgency is needed

Contributes to a positive team-based culture by living our values

Is physically fit, with the ability to stand for extended periods, twist, reach and frequently lift heavy loads

Has a vehicle and the ability to drive to pick-up supplies when needed (compensation per km provided)

Has the ability to work on a weekend, if needed (approx. 2-4 times a year)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43.00-$48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
