We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Maintenance professional to oversee and manage maintenance operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of industrial maintenance practices, ensuring that all equipment and systems operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance management, with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, and the General Manager, the Maintenance Lead Hand will work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Responds to guest calls when on duty.
Responds to Front desk calls, assisting in checking rooms, luggage delivery and guest special request.
Reports any equipment malfunction, emergency situations or suspicious persons to the Manager.
Anticipates, identifies and corrects system breakdowns to achieve guest satisfaction.
Communicates with MOD and co-workers regarding product/ service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
Is fully prepared for fire alarm procedures and other safety requirements. To complete all fire safety reports (e.g. Fire extinguishers, Health & Safety, Equipment reports)
Is familiar with the location of how to control the supply of water, electricity and gas in an emergency situation.
Refurbishes furniture and fixtures with in the hotel such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paints and finishes furniture and fixtures, if needed.
Diagnose HVAC issues, repair minor issues, report major issues to management to schedule HVAC Technician. Liaison with HVAC Technician to explain symptoms of issues found.
Follow all ESA regulations to repair or replace electrical fixtures, such as receptacles, switches, light fixtures, etc
Convert light fixtures from fluorescent or CFL fixtures to LED fixtures, where applicable.
Performs routine maintenance on air handling units (HVAC)
Monitor and maintain all aspects of pool and spa operations in accordance with local health regulations. Including but not limited to: chemical level check, back washing pool, adding chemicals, cleaning pool and daily record keeping
Performs room inspections as required by Supervisor
Removes snow/ice-surrounding hotel.
Use a ladder to change outside lights upwards of 12 feet.
Maintains pool facilities in clean and orderly condition.
Additional duties as assigned by Management.
Health & Safety:
Use of personal protective equipment as applicable.
Follows WHMIS procedures.
Know and use emergency procedures - fire, guest and employee security, etc.
Reports potential problems and hazards.
Practices safe housekeeping.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Certified Pool Operator Certificate (or achieve certification within 120 days of employment)
Must be able to complete physical work including: crouching, kneeling, standing for extended period of time
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
Additional Details:
Position is a union position and subject to terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
