About Us

Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world\'s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role

Reporting to the chief engineer, maintenance in the maintenance engineering department, your knowledge of mechanical equipment and design will be relied upon to support surface and underground operations.

In this role, you will:

  • solve complex technical problems using formal techniques to evaluate systems, equipment and failures
  • maximize equipment availability, reliability and performance through effective problem solving and proactive maintenance practices
  • develop and refine asset specific strategies to improve equipment health and to prevent or eliminate equipment failure
  • engage in planning, coordination, and execution of electrical refurbishment during seasonal maintenance shutdown
  • support site capital and expense projects ensuring project deliverables are met in the form of scope, schedule, and budget
Required:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Five to eight years of relevant industry experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered - see below note on experience.
  • You must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Recommended:
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance techniques and technologies
  • Experience in an underground mining environment
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system, preference for SAP experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP Certification)
  • Maintenance Management Professional (MMP Certification)

Safety Sensitive Site

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan\'s North (RSN).

The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
