Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, a Maintenance Electrician will troubleshoot, install and maintain safety and functionality in fixtures and equipment. This role requires technical knowledge of electrical systems, proficiency with hand and power tools, understanding of electrical codes and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Wiring
: Lay out, assemble, install, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, lighting fixtures, control devices, and related electrical equipment.
Troubleshooting & Repair
: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, repair damaged components, and troubleshoot faults in control circuits.
Preventive Maintenance
: Conduct routine inspections and scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure the ongoing functionality of electrical systems.
Safety & Compliance
: Carry out safety checks to prevent electrical hazards and ensure all work complies with electrical codes and standards.
System Maintenance
: Maintain and repair equipment such as switchgear, transformers, motors, and generators.
Documentation
: Keep maintenance records and document work performed.
Inventory Management
: Monitor and order tools and supplies needed for future job
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician ( Construction and Maintenance or Industrial ) issued by a Canadian province or territory. Red Seal endorsement strongly preferred.
Tool Proficiency:
Expertise in using hand tools and power tools common in electrical work.
Code Knowledge:
Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards.
Problem-Solving:
Demonstrated ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation safely and accurately.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Location
: Grantham
Shift & Hours
: Day Shift, Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 4:45pm, Friday 6:30am to11:30am
May be required to visit neighboring locations and work additional hours based on plant needs
Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and industrial equipment.
Requires standing, lifting, and working with various electrical equipment's.
