Job Title: Maintenance Electrician (Nights)
Compensation: Depending on experience/education.
Schedule: 10 hour shift, night shift, 7pm to 5am (to be confirmed), rotation to be determined. Overtime is available based on operational need.
We are looking for a night shift Journeyman Maintenance Electrician to support our evening and early morning operations. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager as well as supporting the Production Supervisor on shift with any maintenance related matters for our 24-hour manufacturing operations.
SAFETY is priority!!!! Safety Steel Toed Shoes are required (must be CSA approved). Shoe Reimbursement voucher provided upon start date.
What will you be doing?

  • Ability work individually or on a team to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and systems at the facility, utilizing technical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
  • Install, set up and troubleshoot VFDs
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Troubleshooting skills in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, low and high level voltage, logic circuits, and in all aspects of mechanical equipment and make appropriate repairs
  • Controls design includes developing control concepts, program design, coding and implementation, instrumentation selection and operator interface development.
  • Support engineering projects by designing control systems utilizing standardized design methodologies
  • Help prepare job aids, user documentation, systems documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for plant automation systems.
  • Direct the work activities of outside contractors, maintenance technicians, and other associates in the installation of instrumentation, PLC based control systems, and PC based operator interfaces.
  • Act as technical resource to operations/maintenance on controls related issues including troubleshooting, analysis and recommending practical corrective actions for control related problems.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Apply continuous improvement ideas and work in conjunction with teammates from across the business to ensure the design, delivery, and support of quality and on time product to the customer.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend changes to improve plant performance utilizing current control systems or by improving current systems.
  • Support research and communicate with vendors, recommend and wright purchase requests for suggested replacement parts and supplies.
  • Evaluate, estimate time requirements, and complete your assignments on-time.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Journeyman certification, or Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician Certification
  • A Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Familiarity with reading electrical schematics, prints and working knowledge of the Electrical Code
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exposure in an industrial production environment, manufacturing environment, and/or mechanical maintenance work experience is an asset.
  • All duties are performed with knowledge and application of safety standards, such as, but not limited to proper personal protective equipment (PPE), lifting techniques, forklift and rigging operations, fall protection, lock out/tag out, and arc flash.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn.
  • Has a working knowledge of OHS regulations, National Electric Codes, and International Building Codes.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
