Job Summary


The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a Food Manufacturing setting. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics, as well as the ability to work with various power tools and hand tools. The Industrial Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all electrical components operate efficiently and safely.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Plan, lay-out, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes and specifications Use hand tools and power tools Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes and specifications Advise management on hazardous continued operation of equipment Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes Diagnose and repair equipment and facility (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, PLS, instrumentation and communication network) issues. Minor machine parts fabrication Perform preventative maintenance duties and planned and emergency maintenance Assist and oversee contractor new installations, commissioning and troubleshooting Ensure proper labeling of equipment and panels as required Source suppliers, equipment Other duties as assigned and required Safety Responsibilities: Takes a proactive role in ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and all legislative and company requirements are met Participate in regular and random safety audits Recommend preventive/corrective actions and follow up the implementation of such corrective actions Participate/cooperate in incident/accident investigation, root cause analysis and recommend preventive/corrective measures Participate in weekly departmental safety and monthly plant safety meetings Assist in developing workplace safety procedures for Maintenance department Enforce and promote workplace safety procedures Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents Cooperate with assessments, training programs and other actions taken to protect health and safety

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIANCE



Has an Electrician License/Certificate - or the equivalent of 2 Years working in manufacturing, food industry preferred Proficient in electrical installation and maintenance techniques. Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately. Experience working with power tools and hand tools safely. Knowledge of logic controllers and their applications in industrial settings. Capable of performing renovations on existing electrical systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting. Versatile maintenance person skills that complement electrical work. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety standards.

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
