POSITION SUMMARY



The Maintenance Electrician performs a variety of skilled activities ranging from but not limited to electrical safety improvements, troubleshooting, machine modification, repair & re-wiring, electrical projects, PLC troubleshooting & programming, VFD configuring & troubleshooting, and High Voltage (600 VAC & 240 VAC) & Low Voltage (120 VAC & 24 VDC) work on all buildings and production equipment owned by Sunrise Soya Foods.

JOB DUTIES



Work safely and follow all applicable regulations, including the

Ontario Electrical Safety Code

and the

Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

. Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on all building and production equipment owned by Sunrise Soya Foods under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Shift Foreperson. Respond to emergency calls and perform breakdown repairs as required for electrical and automation issues. Report major incidents (that cause significant machine downtime or when extra help is required) to the Maintenance Supervisor or Foreperson. Work jointly with Production Lead Hands, Supervisors, and other company staff on operating and troubleshooting problems with production equipment. Assist in root cause analysis to determine immediate causes and help develop sustainable counter-measures for electrical and automation-related downtime. Maintain all electrical tools in safe working condition, including completing

annual safety inspections as required by the OHSA and CSA standards

. Assist in the electrical design, fabrication, and installation of new production equipment. Support re-engineering of existing production lines or equipment to ensure continuous improvement and safety objectives are met. Accurately input work performed, materials used, and other relevant details into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Report any deviation, defect, or non-conformance that may impact product quality or food safety immediately to management for assessment and potential product hold or disposal. Liaise with contractors and suppliers on projects and initiatives as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Foreperson.

TEAMWORK



Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures for people safety, food safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction, and on-time delivery. Follow all company and regulatory standards, including but not limited to:

Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

Food Safety and HACCP requirements

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)

Ensure proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Report all safety concerns to your Supervisor/Manager and/or a member of the

Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)

. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by your Supervisor or Manager.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS



Industrial Electrician (309A) Red Seal Certification

required. Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility (preferably food manufacturing) as an Industrial Electrician is an asset. Strong preventive maintenance and troubleshooting abilities. Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and designs. Previous experience working with PLCs and VFDs considered an asset. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Good verbal and written English skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Works well under pressure and with minimal supervision. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week). Able to work rotating shifts (day/afternoon/night). Includes a 15-minute paid coffee break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch/dinner break. Exposure to noise and varied temperature environments when in production areas. Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays if required. Company-provided uniform and other PPE must be worn as applicable.
