The Maintenance Coordinator manages all processes related to planning, scheduling and execution/completion of maintenance activities for the Production/Operations Department in the facility. This role ensures compliance and adherence to all applicable internal and regulatory requirements for Occupational Health and Safety as well as Food Safety Standards. The Maintenance Coordinator oversees staffing of the maintenance team, as well as the execution/adherence to the facility maintenance budget.
Reporting Relationships
The Maintenance Coordinator reports to the Maintenance Manager and interacts with other members of the leadership team and staff as required to carry out duties.
Key Responsibilities
Duties as described, included to but not limited to the following:
Maintain and uphold the safety and quality standards of the organization and those set out by industry.
Safe installation/building of machinery and equipment according to needs of business;
Ensure all maintenance activities in the facility are appropriately carried out.
Record all maintenance and service activities conducted and maintain a cycle of the same.
Create work orders and purchase orders for the maintenance of equipment and the documentation for the procurement of spare and replacement parts;
Paint, repair building windows, doors, walls and floors and maintain performance on building support systems (HVAC, etc).
Coordinate contractors as needed; ensuring contractor completes pre-safety (GMP and OH&S) sign off prior to beginning tasks;
Ensuring contractors follow F4C General Safety Rules at all times
Repair or replace defective equipment or parts using hand or machines safely;
Troubleshoot electrical/electronic and mechanical problems within the lines;
Maintain overall cleanliness of maintenance a shop and work areas;
Aid in the creation of company SOPs and Work Instructions as required.
Carrying out additional work-related duties assigned by the employer.
Follows and complies with all company health and safety rules & Provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Follows and complies with all SQF/HACCP/GMP (Food Safety) protocols, policies and procedures.
Any additional duties as assigned by manager.

The ideal candidate:
Minimum 3-5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic or related field in food manufacturing facility;
Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in english;
Education/Training
High School Diploma, GED equivalent;
Bachelors or Associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering an asset;
Millwright or equivalent certification preferred.
Safety Certifications (Fall Protection, Scissor Lift, ForkLift, Occupational first Aid an asset, etc.) required
Knowledge and Skills
Advanced customer service skills including handling difficult customers, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
Ability to work with spreadsheet programs (Google Sheets), and word processing programs (Google Docs), and Google Drive

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Position requires working with electrical and mechanical tools.
The position requires to be physically mobile within a plant environment;
This position is on an on-call basis for emergency situations;
Position requires lifting up to 50lbs
Position may need to work in various degrees of temperatures;
May require overtime on occasion.
