Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing a variety of maintenance tasks. Duties

General facility upkeep
Routine maintenance
Preventative maintenance
Promptly completing maintenance requests including tasks such as fixing light fixtures and plumbing, conducting health and safety checks, managing supplies, and assisting with bigger maintenance projects, all to ensure a safe and functional environment.

Minor Plumbing:

Unclogging sinks and toilets, repairing leaky faucets, and replacing tap washers.

Minor Electrical:

Changing light bulbs, replacing sockets and switches, and ensuring safety features work.

Basic Carpentry:

Making minor structural repairs to buildings and furniture.

Grounds keeping:

Maintaining the grounds by cleaning sidewalks and parking lots, and potentially performing minor gardening tasks.
Cleaning & Upkeep

Facility Cleaning:

Cleaning common areas, floors, windows, and restrooms.

Equipment Maintenance:

Cleaning machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Waste Management:

Collecting and disposing of refuse and maintaining clean refuse areas.
Inspections & Safety

Routine Inspections:

Conducting visual inspections of buildings and equipment to identify potential issues.

Health & Safety Checks:

Ensuring that fire alarms, extinguishers, and other safety equipment are operational.

Compliance:

Adhering to health and safety standards and reporting any hazards.
Support & Logistics

Supply Management:

Maintaining an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.

Assisting Larger Projects:

Supporting experienced maintenance technicians with larger tasks and repairs.

Event Setup:

Setting up furniture and equipment for meetings and functions.
