Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance & Engineering Technician to join our dedicated team. In this role, you'll support building maintenance and ammonia refrigeration systems. This is a 6-month contract role where you'll perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on facility equipment, while following all safety and regulatory standards.

Shift: Tuesday-Saturday (7:30 am - 4:00 pm)

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machinery, equipment, and facility structures Assist with inspections and maintenance of refrigeration systems (ammonia) Conduct routine maintenance on material handling equipment per guidelines Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and motorized lifts safely Support troubleshooting and problem-solving to maintain smooth operations Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

###

5+ years of maintenance experience preferred

Experience with

ice plant operations or ammonia refrigeration

(certification preferred) Trade school courses or experience in building, material handling, or refrigeration maintenance an asset Proficient with hand and power tools Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation Strong communication and organizational skills; able to multi-task and prioritize Ability to work in cold storage environments (-20F/-25C) and warm dry storage (up to 100F/37C) with provided PPE Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
