This position is responsible for working with Maintenance supervisors (rig or office) to provide support, guidance and best practices for planning, organizing and supervising daily rig maintenance operations and activities.

Essential Functions

Manage and update internal processes and procedures relative to API and other regulatory body standards and requirements as needed. Provide ongoing coaching to Maintenance team members so that all members fully understand their tasks, routines and procedures related to work management; Identify specific areas to improve the application of the system over time; Must be able to prioritize jobs and work under tight time constraints. Must have a thorough knowledge of the mechanical and electrical equipment associated with rig installation, including the operation and maintenance of pumping and piping systems, associated control systems, and jacking systems. Able to successfully set priorities and use the systems available to ensure that plans and schedules are optimized and meaningful.

Able to identify and understand the functionality of various rig equipment and can demonstrate knowledge and fundamentals of the following equipment:

  • Hoisting equipment
  • Pipe handling equipment
  • Rotating equipment
  • Circulating equipment
  • Hydraulic equipment
  • Drilling controls system
  • Power transformers
  • AC/DC motor application and drive systems
  • System components
Should have good verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers and vendors .

Must possess and maintain certifications and licenses necessary as required by the appropriate regulatory authorities. Must have proficient knowledge of diagnostic equipment

Additional functions
  • As needed, provide on-site assistance to the Maintenance team, which may include troubleshooting issues, training on new procedures/practices and guidance and assistance on maintenance projects.
  • Maintenance execution during active and end of well operations.
  • Ownership of Division\'s Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) responsibilities by providing operations support and expertise.
Qualifications

Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities
  • Must Possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Must possess 5+ years of skilled or semi-skilled maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above
  • Must be fully capable of performing all relevant maintenance activities
  • Possess sound and correct understanding of equipment
  • Must be able to read and write in English in order to prepare daily reports.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to recognize hazards, alarms and warnings and the ability to convey these to the proper personnel.
  • Must possess mathematical skills as required in order to perform the primary functions of the job as shown above
  • Must possess the necessary computer skills in order to perform the primary functions of the job as shown above.
  • Knowledge of computer based maintenance systems (Oracle, SAP)
Additional qualifications, skills and abilities
  • Inter-provincial Journeyperson\'s Certificate or Diploma in Engineering Technology
  • Must be able to obtain appropriate offshore training certifications:
  • CAPP Medical
  • Basic Survival Training (BST)
  • Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S)
  • WHMIS
  • Regulatory Awareness
