Senior BA - QA Lead SAMS ProjectSt. John's, Newfoundland and LabradorMainframe Migration - Student Aid Management System (SAMS) ProjectThe OCIO is rebuilding the existing SAMS mainframe application on a new platform which includes the modernization of all code and database functionality. No changes in business functionality are expected due to this rebuild and all existing data must also be migrated.The project is using an Agile (scrum) development methodology. We are currently in the execute phase of the project and have a QA team that is responsible for testing after each Sprint.Overview of the AssignmentIn addition to conducting various types of testing, the Senior BA QA Lead will provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the QA team.Assignment DetailsWorking under the direction of the OCIO Project Manager, the responsibilities of the Senior BA QA Lead will include, but not be limited to the following.

• Lead and manage the QA team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and ensure proper test coverage.

• Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and usability testing.

• Analyze and report on testing results, identifying defects and providing actionable feedback to development teams.

• Ensure the QA team follows best practices and maintains proper documentation.

• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in QA and testing tools.

• Other duties

• Completing any other client-related project tasks that will help ensure project success.
• Assisting the OCIO Project Manager as required.
• Preparing or assisting with other project-related documents or tasks as required by the OCIO Project Manager.
• Working closely with the vendor project team as required.

QualificationsYears of experienceDescription of how applicant meets each requirementPost-secondary education (2+ year program) in business, computer science, or a related field from a recognized institution.7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst Preferably with a recognized professional certification.Describe experience with business process modeling and process transformation.Outline skills in facilitation and negotiation.Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Describe how the resource meets this requirement.Provide examples of recent successful projects (within the last two years) whereby the identified resource worked as a Senior Business Analyst and took a lead role in obtaining business requirements, leading quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing and training.
