Pomeroy IT Solutions & Services has an immediate need for Mainframe Computer Operator in our Montreal, Canada Location This position is a Full Time Benefited position: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Paid Time Off The ideal applicant will be a Canadian Citizen and be bi-lingual (French and English) and will have resided in Canada for the last 10 years. This position works on an 12 hour Alternative work schedule rotating from days to nights 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. & & 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. The schedule changes approximately every 4 weeks. The selected applicant will be responsible for performing Computer Operations Operator duties per documented processes and procedures. This includes a working knowledge of customer system environment with ability to interact, troubleshoot issues and work independently. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Must have Mainframe System knowledge, Mainframe Batch scheduling knowledge (OPC, Control-M, CA-7 and ESP). \xc2\xb7 Schedule may include nights and weekends & holidays. \xc2\xb7 Must have IMS CICS DB2 JES2/3 TSO skills \xc2\xb7 Able to perform system IPLs \xc2\xb7 Strong experience in 1st level problem determination and reporting \xc2\xb7 Understand Problem Management & Change Management requirements \xc2\xb7 Escalate tickets as needed and collaborate with teammates to resolve issues. \xc2\xb7 Provide assistance to all operations personnel to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment. \xc2\xb7 Ability to multitask with a high attention to detail. \xc2\xb7 Remain current with all procedures and provide input as appropriate. \xc2\xb7 Must be able and willing to learn new tasks/skills as required \xc2\xb7 Escalate to the assigned client representative and Pomeroy Manager any documentation, process or procedure discrepancies and follow-up until resolved. \xc2\xb7 Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required: \xc2\xb7 Minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience, preferably in a Data Center Operations environment. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to communicate and understand verbal, written and electronic instructions in English and French. \xc2\xb7 Moderate to difficult computer skills, experience using Excel and Word is required. \xc2\xb7 Ability to use email, communicate effectively both verbally and written. \xc2\xb7 Ability to follow detailed processes/instructions is required. \xc2\xb7 Employee may be requested to assist with individual and shift schedules in accordance with budget guidelines and may be required to work under remote supervision. \xc2\xb7 Enjoys Working in a Fast-paced Environment. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Computer Hardware, Software and Related Services. \xc2\xb7 High School diploma or equivalent. \xc2\xb7 Perform additional tasks and/or duties as assigned by management. \xe2\x80\x9cThe Pomeroy Way\xe2\x80\x9d is our guiding principle.
