Tasks

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables Set up and adjust production machineries/tools Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts Set up machines Apply quality control procedure Operate machining tools to fabricate parts Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders Ensure all drill bits, end bills, precision cutters and lathe tools are kept sharp
